CITY OF GLASS
Bio
City of Glass are a Canadian duo comprised of Michael Champion and David Phu, two opposite personalities and longtime friends. The band was born in Vancouver and cut its teeth in Berlin and across Germany. Drawing from older dark pop favorites, (The Cure, New Order) modern inspirations, (Foals, The Whitest Boy Alive) and a love of electronic music, City of Glass have crafted a unique and memorable sound, and a growing anticipation for their upcoming debut LP.
Last year, COG performed for enthusiastic audiences in the UK, France and Germany; the band was honored to perform at landmark venues in London, Berlin, and Paris, and at the Sonic Visions Festival in Luxembourg alongside Metronomy and The Drums. Since returning to Canada the band has spent the summer playing festivals, including showcases at Rifflandia, Olio, and NxNE in Toronto.
Their latest release, The Diving Bell EP, has received much praise from Canada's major publications and the UK's finest indie rock blogs. BKS Crew's (The Union: The Business Behind Getting High) music video for their single "Tourist," was featured on Canada's MuchMusic television station and on Coldplay.com. Their most recent video for "Sticks and Stones" was created up and coming videographer Jem Garrard (Linkin Park, Ringo Starr) who has filmed two more videos for City of Glass' upcoming LP.
